UKTV weighs anchor with renewal for lifestyle series Canal Boat Diaries

Canal Boat Diaries stars waterways explorer Robbie Cumming

NEWS BRIEF: BBC Studios-owned multi-channel broadcaster UKTV has ordered an eighth season of lifestyle series Canal Boat Diaries for streamer U and free-to-air channel U&Yesterday.

Produced by Brighton-based indie Middlechild Productions, the 8×60’ series follows waterways explorer Robbie Cumming as he heads to the north of England to explore the Calder & Hebble Navigation, Huddersfield Broad Canal, Aire & Calder Navigation and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. It was commissioned by UKTV commissioning exec Tracy-Jean and ordered for U&Yesterday by Gerald Casey, director of unscripted programming, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning.
