Crayola Studios partners with Moonbug, Marwar Junction on new series

Crayola Crew from Crayola Studios, Moonbug Entertainment and Marwar Junction

Crayola Studios, the new production arm of US art supplies giant Crayola, has partnered with Moonbug Entertainment and Marwar Junction Productions on two kids’ series.

The series with Moonbug, Crayola Crew, is a 2D and CG animated programme that follows two friends on their whimsical adventures with a cast of diverse crayon characters in the Colorverse, a world where anything is possible with a little imagination.

From fixing broken spaceships with butterfly wings to inventing new instruments for an underwater concert, Crayola Crew aims to inspire kids to put their own ingenuity to work and see the positive impact their creativity can make on the world.

The series with Marwar Junction, The Great Crayola Showdown (working title), is a family competition show in which contestants tackle fun, high-energy and unique challenges that will require creative thinking and innovative problem solving.

The contestants will have to unleash their imagination and be collaborative, inventive and resourceful to tackle the challenges they face. LA-based Marwar Junction is the prodco behind kids’ shows Play-Doh Squished and Earth to Ned.

Victoria Lozano, Crayola’s exec VP, said: “Joining forces with Marwar Junction presents us with an opportunity to create a stand-out new entertainment concept that will give families a chance to compete in a creative setting and inspire children at home to get creative too.

“And teaming up with digital experts Moonbug Entertainment will enable us to boost our digital offering with an innovative shortform series that has colour, creativity and discovery at its heart.”

In other Moonbug-related news, the kids’ entertainment company behind CoComelon and Little Baby Bum has partnered with Sesame Workshop on new episodes of Moonbug’s preschool show Blippi.

Through the partnership, new episodes and music videos featuring characters from classic series Sesame Street and Blippi will launch on the Sesame Street and Blippi YouTube channels.
