Perhaps the key decision made across the whole of the production of BABY REINDEER was the casting of ‘Martha’. ‘Martha’ is such a nuanced character as she veers from an innocent and lost loner to warm empathetic soul mate to terrifying monster. This would be a difficult enough challenge if this was ‘Martha’s’ journey across an entire series but in BABY REINDEER ‘Martha’ often followed this trajectory in a single scene. There were a million wrong ways to cast this role and only one right way. And that way was Jess Gunning.

If difficult to write in words how brilliant Jess was and it is no hyperbole to say that BABY REINDEER would not have garnered the worldwide success and acclaim that it did without Jess.
