Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune get iDVD spin-offs

NEWS BRIEF: More than 40 years after it first aired on NBC, the US gameshow Jeopardy! is being turned into an interactive DVD along with fellow classic of the genre, Wheel Of Fortune.

California’s MGA Entertainment, the firm behind kids toys Bratz!, has signed a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to create the iDVDs, seeing the two titles going down the same trail blazed by Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?

MGA plans to release the Jeopardy! iDVD in Spring 2007, at the same time as a range of computer games based on Endemol’s Deal Or No Deal hit the US market. The Wheel of Fortune product will follow in early 2008. The company recently released the US$100,000 Pyramid iDVD, based on the Sony Pictures Television gameshow.
